Your parents have talked to you about the perils of becoming sexually active before marriage, and you listened.

You may even have friends and family who have succumbed to temptation and are now suffering the consequences of their decisions.

But you made it through high school without falling for any traps. This is your time to shine and you don’t want to blow it.

You know leaving home and living in a dorm means freedom. Freedom from the rules and regulations imposed by your parents, teachers, and coaches, in exchange for a morally relaxed campus atmosphere.

Even so, independence comes with a price.

Will you give in to your urges and become sexually active or will you use restraint and discover that the best sex is no sex?

Can you say genital warts? Young people contract this form of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) more often than any other group and it causes cervical cancer in women.

Approximately 6.2 million new cases of sexually transmitted HPV infections are reported every year.

Condoms only cover so much skin. What it doesn’t cover becomes infected by this disease…yikes!

About 20 million people in the United States are already infected.

As the most recognizable form of HPV, genital warts are soft, moist, or flesh colored and appears in the genital area within weeks or months after infection.

It doesn’t take a genius to know this is something you want to avoid like the plague.
