Marriage & Abstinence Equals
Success For Couples

A marriage is far from healthy if each partner doesn't commit to remain faithful to each other through abstinence from selfish pleasures.

This means flirting with people other than your spouse, indulging in pornography, and adultery are all off limits.

The only reasons for couples to abstain from sexual activity in the confines of marriage are biblical (prayer and fasting).

Flirting, dating, and intimacy with your spouse IS encouraged.

Wedding Day

Sexual purity before your wedding day and remaining faithful to your spouse are obtainable goals.

They are also the only methods proven to avoid disease, unwanted pregnancies, and broken families.

Since 50% of those who wed end up in divorce court, this is advice too many couples are disregarding.

Which might explain why…

Some Men Won’t Commit

The top four reasons why men won’t commit are:

  • They can get sex without the commitment.

  • They fear taking the plunge will require too many compromises.

  • They want a house before they get a wife.

  • They want to enjoy the single life as long as they can.

It all sounds pretty selfish to me, but these are the grounds some men have given for not marrying.

All but one of these descriptions fits my uncle. Here's his story:

A confirmed bachelor, he agreed to marry my aunt even though he later found out she was pregnant with another man’s child.

I guess he was being chivalrous at the time.

Although their marriage lasted 25 years, my uncle was never faithful to my aunt. He resented my aunt and wouldn't let her forget that their oldest child was not his.

She endured many years of embarrassment, abuse, and infidelity from her knuckle-dragger of a husband. God only knows why she stayed with my uncle for so long.

Her actions early in their relationship was inexcusable, still...he should have chosen someone else to spend his life with if he couldn't handle being married to my aunt.

My uncle left a legacy of unhealthy relationships, single parenthood, poverty, and brokenness their children live with to this day.

Another reason why sexual purity before marriage is so important is...

The Trifecta: Women, Premarital Sex, & Cohabitation

Women who had their first sexual experience before they wed with men other than their spouse, are about 34% likely to experience divorce than women who did not.

When a woman cohabits (a.k.a. shacking up) with a man before they wed, there is a very high possibility that the relationship will end in divorce.

Those who are sexually pure and resist living with their future spouse have less risk of experiencing these negatives.

By choosing sexual abstinence before you wed, you set yourself up for healthy relationships and a successful marriage.

You don't need your spouse to complete you, because...

You'll have the strength to present yourself to your mate as someone who is complete...someone who brings depth to the relationship.

Sorry haters, once again abstinence before your wedding day and fidelity after you wed saves the day.
